The Atlantic Drive
This part of our trip was spent in a much more rural area of the country. The atlantic drive is a famous way to travel along the Northern coast of Ireland. It is full of amazing sights, beaches castles and even painted sheep!
Along the way we saw this statue, this is at one of the docks where people were leaving trying to escape the famine. This is a memorable representation of those they left behind. As you get closer you get a better understanding of how small these people had become, their ribs showing and not much muscle left on their bodies.
We walked around the beach a while longer and before leaving we saw this guy.
Leaving the beach, we went to walk around Ramelton. This is a small town with boats that seem to have been left on the coast.
Walking around some of the older towns is always an engaging experience, there is always something to see and always somebody to talk to. This is the type of town everyone knows everyone and they all know the history.
