Marrakech, Morrocco

“Marrakesh is simply the nicest place on Earth to spend an afternoon”

-Winston Churchill

The way to Marrakech! The “Paris of the Sahara”  foreshadowing the delicious food to come, this mountain of tagine dishes was just the start of our journey in Morocco. Marrakech is famous for its souks! Normally souks are saved for Sundays, they are the locals weekly market allowing them to bargain and trade on just about anything from fruit to mules and camels. In Marrakech, the souk is everyday and in fact takes up most of the inner city. It is possible to walk around the souks all day, there is so much to see, and so many people trying to sell you things!

Once we got there, we had a great time sitting on the side of the main square of Marrakesh, Jemaa el-Fna. Listening to the music and observing the people. There are many sights to see in the square. Snakes, monkeys and you can even go in to some of the many shops and try on the cloths!

Sunset from this location was of course a must see.
